Code of Conduct

Stay nonviolent in both actions and words at all times. Violence, threats, or intimidation are never acceptable.

Refrain from engaging in physical altercations or property damage

Treat fellow protesters, bystanders, and law enforcement with respect and dignity, even if there are disagreements.

Encourage inclusive participation, ensuring that all voices, regardless of background, are heard and respected.

While we may challenge unjust laws, protests should aim to stay within the boundaries of the law. Follow legal instructions and cooperate with authorities where possible.

If arrests occur, remain peaceful and respectful towards law enforcement.

 Do not damage, deface, or steal from public or private property.

Respect the spaces around you and refrain from obstructing roads, businesses, or other public services unless specifically part of the protest plan.

Stay informed about the goals, demands, and purpose of the protest.

Follow directions from protest organizers and be aware of the designated routes, gathering spots, and emergency procedures.

 Do not respond to provocation with violence or aggressive behavior. If you witness a confrontation, alert organizers or mediators for peaceful intervention. 

Protect the integrity of the protest by staying calm and composed.

Look out for your safety and the safety of others. Be aware of your surroundings and any potential risks (e.g., crowd dynamics, weather conditions).

Follow safety instructions from organizers and law enforcement, especially if there are signs of escalation.

 Be conscious of how the protest is portrayed in the media. Stay peaceful and avoid actions that may be misrepresented or sensationalized.

If you wish to speak to the media, represent the values of the movement and avoid inflammatory or divisive language.

Avoid actions or behaviors that could undermine the legitimacy or unity of the protest (e.g., looting, vandalism, hate speech).

Stand united in the goal of advancing the cause without resorting to divisive or violent tactics.

Once the protest is over, assist in cleaning up the area if possible. Leave the space as you found it.

Be prepared for potential follow-up actions, and stay engaged in the movement’s ongoing work.
